At the plenary session "The future of Europe: it is our business" of the 5th European Business Summit, our CEO Rudi Thomaes emphasizes the positive effects of the European integration, but also the fundamental challenges that Europe will have to face the next years. When we speak in Belgium about something important you just cannot get around, we often use the French word “incontournable”. This is probably the best terminology to describe the position of cities like Mumbai and Bangalore in the economic landscape of India. And then two questions immediately come to our minds:
(1)               Why are these cities so important today?
(2)               What are the fundamentals driving the development of these cities?  What is their recipe for growth?
