Europe is very much a key player as far as entrepreneurs are concerned. Nearly 70% of rules and regulations have their origins in Europe. Concrete issues as well as broader, 'horizontal' initiatives launched from Europe have a real impact on business. In other words, Europe cannot be neglected. In the run-up to the international climate change conference that is being held in Copenhagen from 7 to 18 December 2009, it is important for the Belgian business community to lay down a number of criteria that need to be met by a good international climate agreement. This document was drafted by FEB’s European Environment Platform, Voka (the Flemish Employers Association), UWE (the Union of Walloon Enterprises) and BECI (the Brussels Enterprises, Commerce and Industry) and was adopted by the FEB’s board of directors on 24 September 2009.
