The added value of diversity and inclusion

FEB believes in a positive approach to diversity as an added value for industries and companies. That is why we proactively promote diversity and inclusion in companies and industries.

In addition to social added value, diversity and inclusion also offer demonstrable economic added value. Studies show that a diverse workplace promotes creativity and motivation to innovate, broadens the customer base and leads to higher turnover. Moreover, a company can use diverse talents more efficiently.

FEB is also one of the Belgian employers’ organisations that has signed a cooperation agreement with Unia. In so doing, we can encourage businesses in their efforts to further develop initiatives to promote greater diversity and inclusion.

The cooperation agreement sets out five common points:

  • Ensuring greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace by preventing discrimination
  • Freeing up resources for positive campaigns
  • Making high-quality data available
  • Involving Unia and employers’ organisations in conducting studies, taking initiatives and developing policy
  • Focusing on prevention in education
